I usually use the term "legendary dogs" whenever I'm talking about them, but only because that's the term I've been using since G/S/C. They really aren't any set animal. To me, Raikou is clearly some cat creature while Suicune is dog-like. Entei could be a lion, I suppose (claaaap clap clap jump).

Actually....I call them legendary puppies but dogs is the closest option.

I don't really think of them as dogs... Since there really aren't any LARGE dog animals in the wild in the real world.. The world belongs to CATS!

I do refer to them as the "Legendary God Pokemon".. I'm about to catch an Entei! ...now all I have to do is play fire red all the way through with Charmander for the Suicune..
